Fullerenes and carbon nanotubes are known for their unique properties and shapes but their applications are limited due to the challenging synthesis, isolation and derivatisation. In my PhD project, I construct synthetically simpler topological analogues, namely covalent organic cages and three-dimensional conducting polymers, in order to uncover new properties and expedite their applications. My research intersts thus include organic synthesis, materials chemistry, supramolecular chemistry and solid-state chemistry.
