Research The conversion of small molecules, such as carbon oxides and dinitrogen, into higher-value products usually involves highly reactive intermediates. If such reactive species can be tamed, they can be used for novel conversions. In our group, we develop strategies for isolating highly reactive intermediates, especially those containing 3d transition metals. After isolating such species, we apply a range of techniques to describe their electronic structures and focus on developing novel chemical transformations.
